Liquivite Canine
Essential vitamins and minerals are incorporated, at levels suitable for cats and dogs under stress conditions. Liquivite contains fish oil, supplying the Omega 3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, which boost the immune system and are anti-inflammatory. A pre-biotic is added, which feeds the beneficial bacteria in the gut. Rosemary, a natural anti-oxidant, is also included.
Liquivite also has valuable non-veterinary uses. For kittens and puppies Liquivite is suitable as their first non-milk food, during the transition to solids. It also appeals to older cats and dogs, perhaps no longer able to eat solid foods as easily. Cat and Dog rescue groups find Liquivite useful in their work. Supplies are available from your veterinary surgeon, or click on UK Mail Order to obtain Liquivite from us directly. Credit and Debit Card payment accepted.
Veterinary Use: Liquivite both feeds and rehydrates the sick, convalescent, post-operative or anorexic cat or dog, which cannot or will not take solids or drink liquids. Liquivite is smooth enough for syringe feeding when appetite is absent, and readily consumed as appetite returns.
Liquivite has a high-quality meat-based recipe, plus vitamin and mineral supplementation needed for these ‘stress’ levels. It also contains fish oil to provide Omega 3 fatty acids, a pre-biotic to feed the beneficial bacteria in the gut, and yeast. Further, Liquivite’s high moisture level means that it replaces fluid when dehydration has occurred, or is a risk. As well as cats and dogs, Liquivite has been found suitable for other meat-eating species.
Non-veterinary use: Liquivite is suitable for the older cat and dog, perhaps less able to handle solid foods as easily. It can be fed either as a meal by itself, or mixed with other foods, particularly dry foods. For weaning kittens and puppies, Liquivite helps in the transition to solids, introducing meats in a familiar liquid form. Rescue groups find Liquivite useful in aiding the recovery of the debilitated cats and dogs they treat.

Feeding Directions: Amounts to feed reflect Liquivite’s higher moisture content and its role in re-hydrating as well as feeding the sick cat or dog. For cats, introduce at 100g per kg of bodyweight; increase by 50% as appetite returns. For small breeds of dogs introduce at 100g per kg of bodyweight, for medium breeds at 80g, and for large breeds at 60g. Increase by 50% as appetite returns. These directions are given on the labels.
As Liquivite is made from meats, eggs and skim milk in suspension, with no cereals, shake can well before opening to mix contents thoroughly. This recipe can result in some colour and consistency variation, but does not affect the quality of the product. Once opened, use within 24 hours. Refrigerate any unused food, returning it to room temperature before feeding.
Benefits:
1. Levels shown above meet the requirements of the cat or dog when under stress conditions.
2. The meats, eggs, milk and yeast provide a balanced amino acid profile in a readily assimilated peptide form. The yeast also contributes B vitamins content and is a source of nucleotides.
3. Fish Oils provide omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, important to the immune system.
4. The natural anti-oxidants have a two-fold role, firstly preserving the food against fat oxidation, and then once absorbed act in the animal’s body to protect it against free radicals.
5. The pre-biotic, Profeed, promotes the beneficial bacterial population of the intestine.
6. Cereals, poorly utilised by dogs, and especially by cats, are not included in Liquivite.
7. Of the copper inclusion, 30% is chelated, to make it more available to the animal.
